I PROGETTI:

Angelo Casciello

Multipurpose “Polivalente” Sign

2016

Large signs painted on the walls mark the rhythm of the main lines of a project which, in its
creative totality, is the synthesis of a new way of understanding the relationship between the
individual and society: elements that recall nature and that become abstract, symbolic. Casciello
bends the geometry of space to a new order of planes, where the sign acquires a plastic value, which
is made concrete, in our perception, by shadows that follow the projections of lights coming from
several points. The artist does not imitate the effect of light, orienting the shadows according to the
perspective box focused in the windows; through the drawn form, he puts at stake the "living
figure" and its shadow: the layout of planes, as they appear to us, creates a dimension of place,
where the encounter becomes an experience of knowledge. On this huge blackboard the artist drew
roots and branches as if they were a sort of skeleton where dancing, dynamic figures began to come
to life.
